The Yellow Submarine torpedoed.
By: Javier | November 24th, 2008
Quite a bit of catching up I have to do, but I haven’t forgotten about you guys. I’ve just been busy getting drunk on the weekend and doing Jose Morinho’s Im On Santana Sports impressions.
Villarreal 2 – 1 Almeria
Giuseppe Rossi (1) Pablo Piatti (61)
Joseba Llorente (15)
Nothing like a goal within the first minute. Right outside of the box with a excellent shot in the upper right 90. Favorite goals by far. The next 14 minutes can be summarized by complete dominance over the pitch. I don’t think I can recall Almeria grabbing or getting a touch on the ball at all. Short after, the Llorente slides another left footer goal into the box.
Now I don’t know if its just Villarreal or me noticing this, but when they always seem to play like a bunch of idiots when they’re ahead. Within the half there were 3 yellow cards and 5 fouls given. Now I take notice that Almeria were playing pretty dirty football, but this is no way to respond. The second half ends and sadly we were asleep on the defense once again. I’m getting kinda tired saying this over and over again, maybe this is a hint saying we shouldn’t fall asleep even when were dominating. Piatti’s goal was about as easy as Liverpool wining against Fulham.
2-1 final score. I’ll take it.
Málaga 2-2 Villarreal
Málaga Villarreal
Duda (30) Giuseppe Rossi (8)
Hélder Rosário (90) Joseba Llorente (50)
*sigh* We were getting so comfy in the top 2 in La Liga table. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted. Rossi’s 5th goal of the season started this game off. The man is on fire IMO. Slipping by defenders and then finishing right under the keeper. A couple of fouls and yellow card later (Seriously guys, play nice) Duda starts acting up. Two very powerful and close shots on goal. It was only a matter of time before this guy was going to hit the back of the net. He takes his shot with a free kick and nails the upper 90. No chance. Duda executed that perfectly, and I’m alright with that goal. Proceeding to the second half, no yellow cards! MADNESS! Anyways, Llorente steps up (some people thought it was offside apparently..) and slide one under the keeper. Another goal that could of been stopped. I’m not saying I’m pissed at the goal, like how Inter won their game, but it wasn’t exactly a Senna powershot to the back of the net. The goalie needs some work and fast. Now they listen to me, now they play defense. The next part of the game was ours, we seriously should of won that game. Except we get screwed over by Rosário’s header at the last minute before injury time. I guess I should of knocked on wood..or Wayne Rooneys bald head. (That’s brilliant that is!)
2-2 away. Not bad for an away game to be serious. A lot of disappointment everywhere not only in La Liga, so I’ll be happy with the point and a spot in the top 3.
Villarreal 0-3 Valladolid
Valladolid
Jonathan Sesma González (24)
Jonathan Sesma González (44)
Luis Prieto (45)
How. Embarrassing. Not only did we get slaughtered at home, but we got humiliated as well. Our defense, forwards, hell even our midfield sucked. Thats hard for someone like me to say, considering since I think we have the best midfield in La Liga aside from Barca. Valladolid were throwing everything they got at us. That win against R. Madrid must of made their confidence levels go way up. The first goal by Gonzalez was shit. I’ll say it once more, it was shit. However, he did have great help from our lovely defender who just “tapped” it right on over. Right infront of the man, with our keeper somewhat out. Very smart, a Spanish Riise we got here, to bad he couldn’t finish. The second goal reminded me of some really stupid MLS goal that people cream themselves about. I blame bad “soccer” for that one. The third goal really was something. I’ll give you guys that one. That touch by Prieto was class. Here are the highlights with a somewhat good/odd looking Portuguese chick.
0-3 final score. Once again, sad sad sad. Our first lost too in the league. D:
The weeks have gone by and now were back to the Champions League. Nothing like getting ready for Thanksgiving with some European football. Good stuff. Were hosting ManUre on Tuesday starting at 1:30 CMT. For once the bias ESPN will air this game because of course, Manchester United. (Only positive is that I can see this in HD, yay!) Whatever, hopefully this will show everyone that not only is English football overrated, but how bad the “Champions” are doing.
If we lose to them at home, I’m just going to get drunk and do more impressions of IOSS. You can bet on that. Maybe I should just upload the ones I did before up here, nah.
Vamos Villarreal! (No seriously guys, lets get to it.)

First time posting here. I Bleed AS ROMA, but Villarreal is the top team I like from La Liga.
I’m shocked about the loss. Damm
Its amazing that Villarrreal got dominated, especially at home. I think the team just took Valladolid too lightly! This is a bad loss to get ready to host Man-shit-er United at home. On the other hand, the plus might be that Villarreal has taken this loss as an incentive to kick ass on Tuesday. Let’s do it!

I must know from someone here, if possible, where I can find a Villarreal jersey to purchase online. I would love a Long Sleeve one. Any links you guys might know about?

AS Roma eh? I can respect that. I do have a Black LS Totti Roma shirt
.
https://www.allucangetstore.com/Thats where I get all my shirts from. I have about 20 from that guy, hes a good seller. I can’t find anywhere a LS or 2nd kit, so if you find one, post it here or email it!
I agree, we took them way to lightly, but we should of expected something like this to happen. They beat Real Madrid no problem and even without Van The Man, they are a dangerous team.
We’ll see what happens on Tuesday, hopefully a win
