Marco Rubén watches the Matrix and applies it to football.

Recreativo Huelva 1 – 2 Villarreal
Adrián Colunga (83′) Santi Cazorla (27′)
Ariel Ibagaza (45′)

Great win, great football (for the most part), and great result. Villarreal steps it back up from the lost we had last week and takes 3 away points. Granted Recreativo was in last place but an away win is pretty critical no matter who you play.
Taking a rest for the game, Senna was watching the game from the sidelines. Villarreal played and dominated on the control for the first half. Cazorla shot a little ball in the middle of the box only to get a little help into the back of the net. I guess this is what Villarreal is thankful for, well, I am at least :D . Arzos tackle on us gave him not only a yellow card, but a goal for us. Ibagaza’s curler into the lower left corner of the goal was excellent. First goal from the Argentine that we got from Mallorca.
Now heres the big Matrix move for everyone to see. I thought this was really just a big hit over here in the states, but apparently Spain has its fair share of imitating movies. Now we’ve all seen some nasty spills in the box, but I haven’t really seen one like this given a PK.

You be the judge. I just think he’s trying to pull of one of these…

So close too!
I’m just glad it didn’t really effect us, we still won the match.
La Liga
2nd place once again. That tie Sevilla did to Valencia REALLY helped us out in the table. For now at least. Real Madrid isn’t exactly at their prime with Van the Man injured and losing to Getafe 1-3 *faceplam*
Were 4 points behind the Catalan leaders. I don’t really see them having any easy wins anytime soon..with Real Madrid AND Valencia after one and another. Not to mention a Champions League game in the middle of the two. Hopefully we’ll get ahead in that time?
We have Getafe and Sevilla in the next two games. It isn’t impossible to grab both wins, but it won’t be too easy either. We are already set for the Champions League, so hopefully that won’t be too much of a deal compared to La Liga.
Vamos Villarreal!

I know it’s just a typo, but “faceplam” is a great onomatopoeia (for your linguists out there, plam is the onomatopoeia; for you spellers out there, yeah, I had to use spell check).

I’m so looking forward (if nervously) to the game against you guys. You’re tough nut to crack, especially at home, but I think we’ll be up for it. Not that I’m forgetting our 2 dates prior, though: Valencia and Real Madrid!

Just a question: How is Mati Fernandez playing this season?

In my opinion I think Fernandez is doing alright with the time hes playing with. We’ve only started with him twice and one of those games was a Champions League game.
He’s had some good touches and plays. He fills a decent spot in the midfield and can even be a great help as a mid-forward.
I think we can still see great things from this guy if we give him the time. You can’t really do that much starting at the 75th minute..

Thanks for the response Javier. I mainly ask because he is the ´1` in Bielsa’s 3-3-1-3 formation, well I think most of the time he plays in that position. I want Chile to succeed, and Fernandez at Villarreal for that matter, just so that people can see more of Bielsa’s genius/madness. I’m not Chilean by the way, more of a fan of Bielsa’s unorthodoxy.

    Cheers!

Congrats on the win! I’m excited to see that Villarreal got a brace against Recreativo….btw, that was a sick looking free kick goal!

I look forward to coming here more often as my time opens up!

hoser I never really seen the Chile National Team play to be quite honest, but your comment does make it sound interesting. Any highlights from previous fixtures that I can check out?
